Aug 22, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday terminated the services of two government employees in the Union Territory over their alleged involvement in terror activities, officials said.

According to the officials, the decision was made in accordance with Article 311 (2)(c) of the Constitution.

Siyad Ahmad Khan, an Assistant Stockman in the Sheep Husbandry Department who lives in the Keran area, and Khurshid Ahmad Rather, a school teacher who lives in the Karnah area and works in the Kupwara district in north Kashmir, were identified as the employees.

After taking into account the facts and circumstances of the cases, the officials stated that the Lieutenant Governor was content. “On the basis of the information available, the activities of the two are such as to warrant their dismissal from service,” they said.
