The novel coronavirus pandemic has now led to over 30,000 deaths around the world and left more than six lakh infected population. India is stepping up efforts to prevent the spread of the virus that has claimed 30 lives in India and infected over 1,100 people. Amid the crisis, the government is also gripped with a problem on how to tackle the mass exodus of migrant labourers, who have been left with no choice but to flee urban areas across the country after the 21-day lockdown in India. An urgent PIL, filed by Alok Srivastava, is likely to be heard by the Supreme Court in the matter today to provide these labourers with immediate shelter, food, food and medical aid.
