A pilgrim slipped into the fast-flowing Mandakini River while taking a selfie on his way to Kedarnath in Uttarakhand.

The pilgrim was on his way to Kedarnath when he stopped to take a selfie near Rambada.

When he slipped into the river, friends and locals tried to save him.

The video showed the dramatic rescue of his friends and local residents when he was seen trapped in a large rock. He was handled with ropes and then pulled to safety.
