More than 20 leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, mostly from Ghulam Nabi Azad's Democratic Progressive Party, joined the Congress in the presence of party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday.
Kharge said that Jammu and Kashmir Congress Party is getting stronger day by day.
"We welcome several eminent leaders who have joined us today. It is a testimony of how the people of Jammu and Kashmir want the Jammu and Kashmir Congress to take the lead to solve their problems and bring peace and prosperity," the Congress president tweeted.
The party also attacked Azad saying that "Mr. GNA himself gives fresh evidence of his DNA mutation, saying that "opponents of abrogation of Article 370 do not know about the situation on the ground". I think The General Congress Secretary Jairam Ramesh said he has to reason about being given a very generous allowance to continue living in a spacious bungalow in New Delhi long after he leaves Parliament. "Earlier this morning, 21 JandK leaders of DAP (Vanishing Azad Party), including one who filed a defamation case against me on behalf of Ghulam Nabi Azad, rejoined the Congress," Ramesh said.
Congress president Kharge, AICC general secretary organization in-charge KC Venugopal, AICC state in-charge Rajani Patil, and Jammu and Kashmir Congress leader Vikar Rasool Wani were also present.
