Standing in queues to get patients treated in hospitals can be relieved quickly. For this, administrators of government Medical colleges (GMCs) and ancillary hospitals are considering to make the outpatient's department (OPD) online.

On average, quite one thousand patients come to the OPD of GMC Hospital for a checkup on a daily basis. For this, patients have to stand in long queues. However, the GMC administration has made arrangements for the OPD slip. Despite this, many times patients have to wait a lot.

Amit Sharma, administrative officer of GMC and allied hospitals, said that in view of the rush of patients, there's a plan to make OPD slip online. Work will be started shortly on this so people can make OPD slip from their home also. He said that change with time is important and efforts should be made to provide some facilities to the patients at their home.
