Victim murdered by son in law, wife ; duo arrested : SSP Rajouri

The Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri have solved a case of blind murder of a man with his wife and son in law booked for the crime.
Sharing details of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that on 11th June, 2020, police station Kandi received an information that an unidentified body is lying in Panjnara forest area after which Station House Officer Kandi Mustaj Ahmed reached on the spot and with the help of locals victim was identified as 45 years old Mohammad Shrief son of Bulla resident of Sakri village.
SSP Rajouri said that body was lying in mysterious conditions with deep wounds after which Forensic Team was also rushed to the spot for spot examination whereas body was later shifted to Kandi hospital where a board of doctors conducted medico-legal formalities including autopsy and body was thereafter handed over to the family for last rites and burial.
"Investigation into the matter in the form of inquest was initiated under CrPC 174 and a special investigation team SHO Kandi Mustaj Ahmed, DySP DAR Rajouri Zaheer Abbas under the supervision of Additional SP Rajouri Liyaqit Ali started the investigation of the case.
Many suspects were rounded but Mohammad Latif, son in law of the victim, became a prime suspect in the investigation who was than put to questioning.
"Although he (son in law) didn't divulge anything in the initial state but during sustained questioning he confessed his crime to have murdered his father-in-law with a well hatched plan in which his mother in law (victim's wife) was also involved." police said.
It came to fore that victim went on his routine work on 8th of June when accused Mohammad Latief son of Wali Mohammad resident of Panjnara (son-in-law) called him and both went to Patli dhok for purchasing bull.
The duo than started to return back home and opted the way which passes through dense forest.
"While passing through the forest, accused Mohammad Latif used his sharp edged axe to attack his father in law killing him on spot and accused than left from the spot alongwith the money that victim was carrying to purchase bull." police said.
The wife of victim namely Guljan Begum was also put to questioning who also confessed her crime for being involved in the crime and her role in conspiracy of murder of her own husband.
Taking into account all the evidences and confession of both the accused, duo Mohammad Latif (victim's son in law) and Guljan Begum (victim's wife) have been arrested and a formal case in FIR 68/2020 under sections 302/382/34 IPC have been registered against both the accused in Kandi police station.
