JKNPP protests against scholarship scheme for NoKs of killed militants

WATSUPPTODAY | JAMMU

Enraged over the government doling out scholarships to the orphans of killed militants in its bid to appease secessionist forces in Kashmir, a strong battalion of Panther activists spearheaded by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP staged a thunderous protest demonstration in Jammu today. The infuriated protestors while raising anti-government slogans torched BJPs effigy to express their indignation against the duplicitous character of the Saffron brigade. Addressing the galaxy of media, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh expressed anguish and deep shock over the recent advertisement highlighting 27 on-line services which was published with a big fanfare as a scheme of Social Welfare Department sponsored by the Central Govt. Serial No.16 of the catalogue pertaining to the various on- line services floated on the government portal shockingly offered scholarship to the orphans of killed militants having been considered as bonafide beneficiary has come like a thunderbolt for the nationalist people of J&K. The never before published commercial explicitly issued by the Government of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and department of Social welfare in particular is a bizarre episode of incentivising NoKs of anti-nationals which deserves mourning rather than condemnation. It has not only sent ripples among the meritorious and aspiring youth of J&K but also left all the patriotic sects of the society aghast, rued Singh. He said that statement of an official Spokesman carried in a section of local media that doubling of scholarship of NOKs of slain militants has been kept on hold has failed to satisfy the nationalist people who are questioning the continuance of the said scheme even during BJP rule after 2014. Further the govt has failed to roll back the existing scheme assuring Rs. 750/- pm to the children of killed militants besides Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 7000/- for professional courses and hostel fee respectively.Taking a pot shot at BJP for its brazen treachery, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh wondered whether the Saffron government was bringing the services to the door steps of citizens or delivering the bundles of premiums to the door steps of militants, terrorists and subversives active in Kashmir valley under the garb of the abhorrent advertisement. Has this become a new normal within your ideology?, anguished Harsh questioned. Reminiscing the treacherous acts of Saffron party, Mr. Singh revealed that BJP had left no stone unturned to appease the secessionist forces and Kashmir centric leaders to keep its erstwhile unholy alliance with PDP intact. The announcements of ex-gratia relief in favour of NoK of Khalid Wani ( brother of Burhan Wani), adequate compensation and govt. jobs to the NoKs of deceased militants and stone pelters , compensation to the ring leader Farooq Dar for creating unrest in Kashmir, registration of FIRs against bravehearts, backdoor appointment of Syed Ali Shah Geelanis grandson on a lucrative post in SKICC by flouting rules besides release of thousands of stone pelters, etc. have been a hall mark of BJPs tenure in power, Harsh divulged.
Expressing serious concern over the humiliation of the martyrs and nationalists in J&K, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh lambasted BJP for conferring premiums to the NoKs of dead militants and subversives while out rightly disparaging Indian brave hearts and showing empty coffers to the NoKs of martyrs and unemployed, underemployed youth unlike other states. You have no financial provision for the families of the martyrs, no salaries and wages for the underemployed, no jobs for the educated nationalist youth, no pension and social security for the widows and the old, no relief for the BPL dwellers but strangely have a bonanza to offer to the orphans of killed militants. When will you atone for your sins?, Harsh asked BJP. He roared that Panthers Party would vehemently oppose, expose and depose the Saffron brigade for bringing disgrace to the nationalist forces besides its acts of subterfuge and treachery.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap Singh, Surinder Chouhan, Khajur Singh, Kewal Krishan Sharma, Ravinder Singh Jamwal, Nirmal Kishore, Kunwar Bali, Kulbushan, Gurdeep Singh@Raju besides others.
